It has been a hectic end of the year right now. We just got words that a new commercial version of the BrainKeeper Enterprise Wiki will be launching in January 15, 2006, after more than a year of development. The BrainKeeper Enterprise Wiki is a web2.0 ajax-based distributed knowledge management system that gives everyone in the company the ability to contribute to a central knowledge base. BrainKeeper is aiming to be the leading application in the enterprise collaborative management industry with features far better suited for corporate environment than the other wiki tools. Pricings will start at $30 / 6-months for 3 users (basic account - available only in semi-annual billing period), and $35 /month and up for 4-9 users and more.
As we all know, the industry has been swarmed with applications such as BlueTie, Cyn.In, CentralDesktop, and more, and as we’ve pointed out before, there are still rooms for more innovations and improvements. We certainly hope that BrainKeeper Enterprise Wiki will have such points, and from what we’ve heard so far, we’re quite optimistic that they do. Chad Ganske, the Director of Technology and co-founder of BrainKeeper, Inc. has this to say:
One of these features is also something that we have kept under wraps, but are now ready to announce: BrainKeeper will offer an API that can be used to pull Page and Workspace content into other systems. This can be used to export content into existing knowledge repositories, backup systems, or corporate portals. Another new feature will be Workflow, which will allow Workspace Admins to monitor and meter the content that is added, edited, and deleted from the site.
