Travelling is fun, and should be remember for its experience. Currently, there are several travel log social networking services on the web, such as: LogMyJourney or TripDiary. There’s also a travel planner service such as TripHub. And now, there’s a newer travel log service called Trippert.
Similar to its predecessors, Trippert is a social networking site to share your travel experiences. It is built to help you log your experiences and make them accessible to others. With Trippert, you can write and post photos about slices of your life in all parts of the world either on your own or with others. People can access these posts by browsing to the areas they find interesting, or by subscribing to your blog page where they can see everything you’ve written about your travels. Currently Trippert is in its Alpha phase.
Aside from the ones mentioned above, Trippert has some other features that allows you to:
- Write a periodic post of your own travel blog. Anyone can click on your name and see your blog, and everything you have contributed so far
- Share photos - post your photos and write accompanying commentary. One feature worth mentioning is the Ajax-based Batch upload for multiple photos upload. You can drage and drop multiple images at one time
- Share group photos – write a post that others can edit and you can use it to gather your photos from a group trip
- Write shared articles – use Trippert as a wiki to provide background on a destination or topic
- Reviews – post reviews and photos of destinations, hotels, restaurants, and activities
As I can see, Trippert still has a long way to go in terms of its development in features, usability and user interface. If Trippert is to succeed in competing with the other similar type of social networking, it must have unique features to differentiate itself from the group. Perhaps adding a video area? Or maybe a cloud tag of travel destinations? I’m not sure. But WorldTechLogic will sure to check it out when it enters its Beta phase.
