Real-time Update (RTU) differentiate EditGrid with desktop spreadsheet application and most other online spreadsheet services. Currently only EditGrid, Google Spreadsheets and Numbler possess this feature. EditGrid now supports up to 500+ functions, even more than MS Excel and Google Spreadsheets. With the comprehensive range of supported functions, EditGrid allows users to upload their spreadsheets created by Excel, Lotus 1-2-3, etc easily.
A major disadvantage of MS Excel and OpenOffice.org, etc. is that they doesn’t allow 2 people to work on the same spreadsheet at the same time. The need for collaboration is common. RTU allows multiple users to work on the same spreadsheet simultaneously, with changes made by one user automatically updated to others working copy in real time. This makes a difference.
